Following an initial meeting with some of the Search Industry's most active companies in the UK, NETsposure have joined 9 other Search Engine Marketing companies to form an new UK trade association.

The proposed Search Marketing Association UK (SMA-UK) will provide a platform to inform and educate the marketplace of the benefits of search marketing in the overall marketing mix, as well is giving its members an industry voice.

"As every Search Engine Marketing (SEM) business and consultant already understands, Search Engine Marketing is far from being an add-on to web design nor does it sit within the toolbox of the traditional marketing agency, it is a specialised industry in its own right. The formation of SMA-UK is a much welcomed start to the promotion of SEM and a first step to building greater trust and understanding of the benefits this affords UK businesses." said NETsposure's Simon Collingridge.

Less than 72 hours after the announcement of SMA-UK's launch, they announced their support for the launch of Search Marketing Association Europe (SMA-EU). SMA-EU offers the same benefits to the rest of Europe and it's timing conincides with the Search Engine Strategies conference in Stockholm on October 27th.

One key part of this initiative is communications at the heart of which is the website. Websites for both SMA-UK abd SMA-EU, which will be in 7 different language, are being developed managed by NETsposure, "it's a great opportunity to help these two organisations hit the ground running, and provide easily accesible information for all the potential members, regardless of what language they speak" say Collingridge who adds "there are already over 100 people subscribed to the mailing list within just a few days" .
